Blogroll revisited.

*UPDATE* I don't mean to leave anyone out. Even if you don't have a blog, if you comment on this post I will include you in the contest below!

I cannot figure out the deal with a blogroll? Some of my favorite sites don't even have them?
I mean, who do you add anyway? How do you choose?

Sites you love to click everyday? Friends you’ve met online and are your new life support? Because honestly there are just waaaay too many out there. (You should see my new bloglines list...crazy). And I’m not sure a blogroll works all that well as a marketing tool? Does anyone have any advice on this one? I see people separating out their lists into different categories. Friends, Family and Wacky. (I see my blog fell into the ‘don’t know what to categorize this'! In Angie’s blog. -Thanks dear for adding me all the same! Kaye's blog lists me as an addiction, how funny!)

Here’s what I’ve come up with. Starting today. If you comment on my blog, and you have a public blog, I will add you to my new fancy blogroll in the order that you came in. No need to take a number. Go ahead. Be the first on my blogroll!

Hopefully that ups my comments a bit, because as we all know, stat-counters are fun and all, but uh…a little impersonal. They just don’t respond when I’m happy, or cry when I’m sad, or laugh…well, at all (like you do)! And I need laughter, all the time. I do.

So there you are. Be the first to comment today, and who knows what beautiful tomorrows will come out of it.

That was gross, what I meant to type was:

I'll bribe reward you.

If I get more comments on today's post than I ever have before* I will give away one of my small tote bags ($20 value) to a random commenter! (See yesterday's post for examples) I'll give the winner a choice of two or three different fabric combos. (No matter what I call them, everyone around me keeps calling them scripture bags…oh well, scripture bag it is.) Now go tell your friends about it. (Open to US and Canada, but I would be willing to pay half of international shipping(??), please tell me in the comments if that works for you out of towners?).

Note: I'm out on surgical leave till the weekend. I 'think' I'll be checking my email, but can't guarantee it until Saturday or Sunday. But don't let that stop you, comment away.

*(The comment number is not too secret-and one comment per person will be counted, no anonymous comments will count either--duh, who would I contact?, plus you should leave an email address if you don't have a google account, thanks.)

(Oh and contest is open until Sunday night at midnight, Mountain Central Time).

Did I forget anything else?

Oh, yeah. Don't forget to vote for me (or someone else) over at An Island Life. Today's the last day!

That is so funny about my blogroll. I've been meaning to move you to a real category. I added you there before I was sure where your blog fit in......writing.....mom, etc. I've have a huge blogroll, and basically I add anyone that has commented on my blog a handful of times. One comment doesn't count. I decided to do it the way I do because I like to see my name on others rolls. I've taken it off before, but then everyone asks for it. New bloggers especially like blogrolls because it gives them some direction!

Rats - not first! That will teach me to go to sleep!

I like blog rolls because if I'm bored I can have a look at others that are somewhat related to ones I already like. Oh and I do love seeing my name up (who wouldn't)

I have not spent any time on my blogroll. I just published my bloglines. I guess thats fair because if I read that blog it shows up on my blogroll (usually sometimes it glitches). I used to find great blogs of people's blog rolls so its a great tool. Now I read more blogs than I should so rarely find news ones. Although, when people find me I usually find them too!

You can't really just throw surgical leave at the end of a post as a BTW without worrying me. Hello?
Anyway. I don't have a blogroll. Used to. But it just hurts too many feelings. Back when I first started I only linked people I knew IRL but I don't think my cousin would appreciate a whole bunch people coming to her site now all up in her business from my site.
If I need to use a blogroll I use Jess @ Oh, the joys. Girl has the best blogroll ever.
That being said I am always very humbled when someone chooses to put me on their blogroll, especially when they know I don't have one to return the favor.

I love to see my name on people's blog roll. (and disappointed when I think I will be there, and I'm not.) I don't know why, I just do. (kind of like comments, I guess?) I have found some good blogs this way, too.

Hola! I like to keep my blogroll up to date with the blogs I really love. When I'm still "getting to know" a blog, I don't add them... I'm still getting to know yours! :)

Go look at my blog (she said, with shameless self-promotion) and you'll see the new feature Blogger created just for YOU!

There's a new Blogger widget that let's you just enter urls and it goes and finds the site name. You can even ask it to display the last post title, and sort by last post time if you wish.

I'm absolutely adoring it. I don't use my bloglines much any more, because I can just click on my own blog and it opens posts in a new tab. Love it Love it Love it.

You can set it to display 10 blogs, and users can click to see the full list if they want.

There ya go. Next problem?

Is this the foot-surgery weekend? I hope so - only because I hope that a "surprise" surgery hasn't popped up! I'll be thinking of you :) Remember, well-managed pain facilitates healing, so don't be a hero - pop those pain pills!

I suppose a blogroll could be useful in finding new interesting reads (like everyone else said). I know that once you mentioned the "pioneer woman", I checked it out, and now I'm totally hooked!

I don't have a blogroll because I'm lazy! Sometimes I think about posting my google reader widget, though. It's basically the same thing!

Well I just read that you're out on surgical leave, so I don't think you'll see this for a while, but I hope all is well!

I'm a day late but I just found you. Thanks for visiting me at my place and YES I'd love help with my banner.

I have no answers to your blog roll question. I read too many blogs to list them all on mine because... I'm lazy.

And what the heck is a scripture bag? I'm going to have to go rummage around in your archives.

Yeah! I see your new blogroll. Looks great! (And I'm not just saying that because I'm on it).

I love blog rolls...I'm just starting mine...I have a list in my fav's of the one's I love...and the ones to watch...as I click on the one's to watch, I find more I love, then I move them to my blog roll...I have found most of my fav's on other blog sites...cool...

OMG, I can't believe that I missed this post! My blog list is completely for laziness! I can click on my blog to update and also zip on over to my favorites all in one blog! You'll notice mine changes, some of them I get tired of and others are keepers! I consider a blog an addiction if I just have to read it everyday!

I love to go through blogrolls. I find the best ones that way!

I am addicted to blogging. I just can't get enough. People can come up with the craziest things to write about. Amazing!

Now I need to go update my blogroll.

You make some amazing purses! Very cool and creative. I'm entering your contest!!

Thanks for coming by my place and entering my giveaway also. :o) Nice to meet you!

Okay, your bribe, uh, I mean reward system worked!

As for my blogroll, it's blogs that I really like, or blog buddies. That's not too vague, is it? ;)

Okay, now you have to come over to my blog and comment...

Your blogroll may inspire me to lengthen mine. I only have a few listed along with icons & links to a couple others. I love tote bags! My husband has no idea how many I own. But another from a fellow blogger? count me in. In fact, maybe that should be my first contest: a batch of tote bags with daisies on them!

blogroll, bloglines, it's just all so confusing. Here's to hoping Blogging for Dummies was worth the money...

I use to love blogrolls , it was a good way to find other blog similar to the one I was reading. But now I have so many blogs to keep up with I normally do not try to find new ones.

You crack me up. I just put everyone under the same list and then no one gets their feelings hurt. I would have commented earlier but it has been a yucky weekend.

My blog roll is kind of sad. But my blog is only like a week old. LOL Feel free to peruse the few I have on there!

Found you through Fussy's! Very nice blog!

This is a nice idea. It is hard to choose. This might be a stupid question, but how do you make a word with a line going through it. I am not all that computer savvy but I wanna know that little trick.

Oh my heck! I was featured. And it didn't hurt or anything!
