Megan, you should try them! The instructions are pretty good on the website I mentioned, and they are easy. I would suggest a little less stiff fabric than this (quilting fat quarters). I'm making some more with 'silk-like' fabric. 5thgrader loves the really wide ones, and 7yrold is happy with the smaller ones.
