Which do you want first...?

The good news... or the bad?
I ALWAYS answer... the bad!
Get it over with, ya know??

The good news is...

My new house has a convection oven!

The bad news is...

It sucks. For some reason (could be user error) it doesn't cook well in either normal or convection mode? (The heating element is on the top? WHA...?)

The good news is...

Hubby's work is so close he comes home for lunch!

The bad news is...

Sometimes he comes home for lunch and the wife is still in her bath robe emailing all of you!

The good news is...

I have a pretty cool sewing 'studio' in new house.

The bad news is...

I do not have an office anymore...sitting in the kitchen as I write this.

The good news is...

Got a membership at local gym here. And only $36/couple!?? Wow.

The bad news is...

Um...can't think of anything there? LUV IT!! (And I timed it...6min 45sec to drive there!)

The good news is...

People give away free fruit from their trees here?! I just loaded up on several boxes of pears.

The bad news is...

The strainer I ordered online STILL hasn't gotten here. And the fruit is going bad, and the flies are mulitplying....

The good news is...

I think I've sold some bags to a local retailer! Am I dying?

The bad news is...

Yes I am dying, worried I won't be able to keep up...Do any of you sew?

Last One...

The good news is....

I really like my new life in Oregon, sans Costco and everything.

The bad news is...

I miss my old life. The one with the friends on my street (and all the drama that came with it), and the school that my kid's loved, and the temple nearly complete in my backyard, and the one where my mom could make it to Sassy's upcoming baptism, and the tomatoes ripening in my backyard (now dying!), and Food4Thought--(how I miss those salads), and yes...the life with Costco in it. I miss that life.

Please send tissues.

It's so hard to be away from home. We're anticipating a giant move soon and there's good and bad.
Good: our best friends are where we'll be going.
Bad: our families aren't (or is that a good? ha).

I like that despite your natural inclination to give the bad first, you gave us the good.

I'm sorry you miss your old life. I'm afraid when we move I'm going to be singing the same tune.

You don't have a costco there? really?

When we replaced our oven, I didn't even want a convection, because they NEVER seem to work right.

Hi, hi, hi! Just a note of encouragement to keep your good-and-crazy chin up! It was so brave of you to move your entire family and your lives to a new and far-away place! Sometimes we get caught up in everything we have to do that we forget what a huge life-changing event it really is. Give yourself that, and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. Allow yourself time to settle in. It's okay to be sad too... goodbyes are always tough. I can tell you're a real trooper and you'll make it through this transition with a smile on your face.

No Costco? Hold the fort. I'm not sure I would survive.

That's awesome about your bags. I sew, but not nearly as good as you do. Good luck keeping up.
Sorry about the downers, hope you'll settle in soon and get used to all the changes.

Well, things sound pretty good to me. I think it would be so hard to be away from family. I don't know that I could do it. But it sounds like you are doing great! And with friends like us (internet friends, I mean), we'll be here no matter where you go! (I know it's not the same, but whatever...):)

When we lived in the country we bartered a lot. Our veggies and fruits for some eggs or whatever. It was great. How awesome that you've sold some bags to a local store!

Hey don't act like you have it so bad. Did you forget where I live? Ah, no costco, no walmart (except 25 miles away), barely a gas station, and my nearest neighbor is over a mile away. Hello, you don't have it that bad off. Ha Ha. Except that now you are forever away from all your crrraaazy siblings. Love Ya

Hang in there!

I was going to put a really LAME comment about being able to hook you up with a cheap funeral...but it was really, really LAME, I'll keep it to myself.

SO much good and some bad. Ain't that just the way life goes? I am sorry that you miss your old life. Leaving things and people behind is so hard. I am impressed with your positivity through though.

I feel ya. We move a LOT. Just when I start to like the new life, we up and move again.
Found your bad news about the gym: so close and so cheap, you HAVE to work out! No excuses!!!

How did I miss this post yesterday? Loved it?

Look at you, getting all pop-U-lar!

Aahhh, honey - I understand. You left a lot of good things behind! But you've got the right perspective - your new life has a lot of good things, too. And a much happier hubby in the new life, yes? Happy husband means lots of presents and love for the wife, which means, happy wife, yes? Take it day by day - your new life will build and grow and be just as fulfilling. And there's a costco.com, right?

We miss you too...

I have a convection oven too, there is an element on top for broiling, but a hidden element on the bottom! It just looks like there isn't an element there...but for cleanings sake, they put a cover over it! I bet that is what you have too.

Oh my heck! I was featured. And it didn't hurt or anything!
