Not My Usual Self

This one's a rant.

Please scroll down for a happy posting.
~~~~~~~~~~
We had renters for the house. They fell through. Two weeks ago.
We had renters for the house. Yesterday. Today they fell through. Hubby was just about to purchase a flight to head back there to sign papers and do a walk thru. Grateful he didn't at least.
We just got notice that our home owner's insurance was CANCELLED. What? Can they do that? Oh...From 2 months ago? How? Why?
And now. It will cost ASTRONOMICAL to get it reinstated. Great. Thanks. On top of large mortgage for home we are NOT living in.
The home we are currently renting is great. And that's nice. But. Bankruptcy is looming.
Okay. I can go out and get a job first. Thanks for reminding me. Counting blessings, I am.
And now. I'm going to go eat THIS. Hubby was out of town yesterday and I asked begged him to please bring home something yummy. ANYthing I didn't have to make myself. I know. All those yummy recipes...but, when you are depressed you need THIS.
Are YOU playing along for PSF?
I think even when I'm not depressed, I'll need to eat some of that pie. That's really frustrating about the renters falling through. I hope you get some good renters soon!
oh lady, you are livin my life! take it from someone that (barely) made it out of the exact situation... this too shall pass.
long story, short, we were carrying two mortgages at once, with an empty house thousands of miles away. we got lovely foreclosure letters, and would alternate between mortgages to keep us out of real trouble. it was a nightmare.
have you thought about a short-sell on the old house? that's what we ended up doing. we took a HUGE loss (didn't even cover what we owed), but the bank released the deed and let us pay off the balance.
anyway, if you need any advice or want to vent... i am your gal.
Sorry to hear that, but that snack looks AWESOME.
Sorry about the house. That is so frustrating. Everything will turn out in the end. I will also start sending some good renter vibes! Good Luck.
wow thats awful news...I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers but that pie looks good right? did it help?
Can I lend you some of my Percoset. Never mind...trade me for that delicious looking stuff.
Life sucks doesn't it? I know financial stress well--the past year has been worse than ever for me and worst thing is...I couldn't go get a job if my life depended on it because I look like a barely-walking time bomb. I'm a risk when I walk into a supermarket. lol
Thank goodness for the bloggy world. Just feels ok to let it out, right?
Hope good, solid renters come your way FAST...I'll be rooting for you.
I'm so sorry that you are having a tough time. I pray it passes quickly and works out for the best. In the meantime I would love to pour a cup of coffee and join you in that delicious dessert!
Oh that dessert looks like HEAVEN!! Did it taste as good as it looks?
Sorry about the house(s). That really sucks and I hope you are able to sell or rent soon. Are you looking to sell? Or just rent?
Forget the troubles...
STEP AWAY FROM THE PIE AND NO ONE WILL GET HURT.
I'm on my way.
Kidding...mail me the pie
I WANT PIE...
Ok, coming from a gal who use to underwrite homeowners insurance yes, they can do that and go back to when you moved out of the house (read the fine print on your insurance policy) and yes getting a canceled insurance policy reinstated is a nightmare (just go talk to Kristina from www.itrhymeswithbanana.blogspot.com)
This too shall pass, like everything else.
And FYI I had to file bankrupt at the age of 25 (I am now 29)... you are not alone in that fear but it does not KILL you. I have a credit card now and I was able to buy a car and I was approved for a home loan (before I got sick and had to go on disability..) smile eat some pie and for Pete's sakes send me a piece! I HEART PIE!!!
HUGS for all the help last night! Just cracked up reading what you wrote on it.....
Ugh...what is up with these renters? I hope you find some GOOD ones, soon!
That pie looks spectacular!
If I lived nearby I'd help you eat that. How you feel about homeowner's insurance is how I feel about health insurance. Ugh. Hope it all works out.
Mr Handsome is quite real. lol. He just said, "Why don't you just call me Anthony in your little web world?" Well, dear, because I think my web world is quite different from the real one...or is it? He's confused. lol I've posted pics b4. Here's one but I don't know how to make it a clickable thingamabob: http://s244.photobucket.com/albums/gg40/cphillips1963/Anthony/?action=view&current=anntttthhh.jpg His life is not so private with me around. lol That's a long comment, huh?
I think I just gained 10 pounds looking at the yummy concoction of putting a smile on your face!!
Sorry about the house...I am thinking happy renter thoughts for you..
Sorry to hear this! I would say a prayer for you, but that seems kinda silly, since I'm an agnostic. Will keep you in my heart and send good thoughts and positive energy in your direction.
Try to keep believing this will all work out for the best in the end (and I'll do the same on my end)!
Hang in there. And I don't know What THAT was you ate, but it sure looked worth it. Did much the same with a chocolate, chocolate, chocolate cake from Cait and Abby's after relief of almost 5 weeks of stress related to school and learning and child #1--and I'm supposed to be on Weight Watchers! Bad, bad me!
Well at least you know how to vent with a clever and quite good natured (considering) post! LOL And the comfort food looks great. Hey how do you do that neat "cross thru.cross off" a word? I use blogger too and I don't see how to do it. Pretty neat for effect.
I'm sorry about your stressful situation, but eating all of that pie will definitely help for a brief moment anyway.
By the time you do find someone to rent your house you won't be able to fit through the door. At least I WOULDN'T be able to because I can't eat treats like that in single servings. i know, I need help.
Sorry to hear about the insurance challenges. Are you handling the house rental yourselves, or do you have an arrangement with a real estate agency or management company (for a fee) to do the renting for you?
My prayers and thoughts are with you!
Paige said...
yuck that so sucks--it seems like when things fall apart, they really fall apart.
hang in there
Jocasta said...
That really sucks! Do you know why the renters have pulled out? Are you renting it yourselves or through an agency. Is your rent to high or to low? (to low and here anyway you just get rubbish for tenants)
Hoping it gets better soon
Ugh. Sorry to hear that times are tough. Blech, I hear you.
But boy does that pie look yummy! Can I come over for a piece? :)
Melissa Ann Browning said...
What a nightmare. And to be so far away from the house doesn't help at all. Were you guys waiting to sell until the market recovered a bit? I wish I had good advice, but... I'll be thinking of you!
(ps-missed church chat today!)
Kate said...
Oh man, really sucky, I know. We have the same problems with our renters. Like for instance, this month, she hasn't even paid the rent yet and it's already the 18th. I have come to the conclusion that rental property is G-d's way of bringing you to a new level of faith. But did I mention that getting to that part can sometimes require anti-depressants and a good valium every once in a while?
Oh my heck! I was featured. And it didn't hurt or anything!
