2006.
She has found her true love. Dancing.
May she love it well past the boy stage and skip that part altogether!

2007.
They will tell you the breakfast in bed thing has been a tradition for birthdays for forever.
But I have the photos to prove that THIS was the first year.
That's it.
ONE year = tradition.
I'm stuck with it for forever or until she turns 18 and moves out right?

And....This weekend.
See what I mean?
One time = tradition, chained in for life.
Never let you forget it.
Happy Birthday to my 11yrold. You know this means I AM OLD now.

But the cake?
This year I won.
Instead of the 'traditional ones', I talked her into this awesome 'Ice Cream Sandwich' Cake.
Did you know they make peppermint ice cream sandwiches? AND...oh my gosh!
we saw Eggnog ice cream sandwiches?

I found all sorts of recipes for different versions of This Amazingness.
Here's what we did.
peppermint ice cream sandwiches
vanilla Oreo cookies
one candy cane
Frosting:
1 container vanilla store-bought frosting
1 small package white chocolate pudding mix
1/2 container small whip topping
mix together
unwrap 8 peppermint ice cream sandwiches
lay 4 side by side on piece of parchment paper
cover this layer with frosting mix
crush 5 vanilla Oreo cookies, and sprinkle on this layer
lay 4 more sandwiches on top of frosting cookie layer
frost the whole 'cake' with the rest of the frosting
crush a candy cane and sprinkle on top for Martha effect
put it all in the freezer, and enjoy 2 hours later!
I'm seriously using this frosting for like EVERY other cake I ever make. It was THAT good.

That does look delicious!
And I haven't had breakfast yet. That looks like it would be perfect for breakfast.
Oh man, what a great tradition. You are such a good mommy!
Regarding my post---- nothing special, blogger was not putting anything but the title up, it is fixed noe, should be at least.
Mason's red hair came mostly from his Dad, but after I had him I did some research and found out that both parents have to carry the genitic mutative recessive gene for a child to be born with red hair... I have strawberry blonde hair, so I guess I can take partial credit too! I hope I speled all of that right.

LOVE all of the cakes! Peppermint Ice Cream Sandwiches? I am SO going to the store today!!
Oh yeah--she looks just like you!!
Wow that does sound good.
This year we did a special breakfast for my little man's bday. Blueberyy pancakes with whip cream and a candle. He was convinced that every kid celebrates their bday at the beach since this is where we had been the last 3 yrs, this yr though his bday was the day before we left.
We don't do regular cake for him he doesn't like it, yes he is weird. so this one may be good I will have to tweak it since I doubt they will have pepermint ice cream sand. in July.
Good lord - how do your kids stay so trim and healthy looking??? Must be plenty of sensible, nutritionally balanced meals and lotsa play exercise between birthdays - LOL
Now I gotta craving for a big slice of some decadently rich calories-ladened cake, darn you, Carissa!
She is adorable and looks just like you!
And those cakes are amazing. Good call on telling her which cake to have this year.
Happy birthday!

I totally made that cake for my son's birthday over the summer! Delish!!!
Happy Birthday to your daughter!
Wow, she has grown up! I like the fact that you went to Taco Bell for the BDay! Down here everyone tries to outdo each other! This year one of MM's friends had a full blown live band dance at the "Bill Thomas Building"! I know that room rents for at least 500! OMG!!!!
Tell her happy bday from me!
Kaye
