Time to Move Onwards and Upwards

Graduations of All Shapes and Sizes... WHA??

The 6th graders had a full blown graduation ceremony. Complete with the superintendent speaking, awards given out, class officers recognized and of course the presentation of the diplomas..

Um...

HUH?

Graduating on to... Jr. High.. WhaHoo!?

I think I spent more time IN the school this past week than not. I'm not totally complaining here. But? Wow, they couldn't possibly have gotten any work done the past two weeks!

Trips to the local pool, for both kids.
One kid's class 'won' the end of the year pizza party complete with a limo ride?!
A talent show for the upper grades.
A talent show for the lower grades.
A baby shower during class for the student teacher (I know. Don't ask.)
6th grade graduation.
A family invited BBQ on the last day of school.

And DO NOT get me started about Preschool Graduation.... are they serious?

Wow, I've never heard of a 6th grade graduation.

I've spent this entire week in school and I'll be there twice next week. I just wish we could skip a few of these events and enjoy our summer!

I'm really pretty sure I would have stayed home for the student teacher baby shower. That's pretty much where I draw the line! But that's just me. I'm sure she's a wonderful girl!

I was so, so relieved that my preschooler just had a simple picnic where they teacher just handed us a certificate at the end.

My grade school child had an assembly for the ENTIRE SCHOOL. That's right, all of us had to sit through 6 grades worth of handing out certs for perfect attendance. I though it was just going to be the 1st grade so I brought my younger 3. Yeah. That was 3 weeks ago and I still have a headache.

I had a graduation from 5th grade to middle school around 20 years ago. We sang "Rocky Top" and that Friends Forever song. Also had a graduation ceremony from 8th grade to highschool. Don't remember kindergarten and didn't go to preschool.

That does sound like a crazy busy week though!

I'm so glad they don't have a graduation ceremony at my son's preschool! I suppose it would be difficult for them to do since most kids go to his preschool for 2 years. Congrats to your daughter...off to Jr. High. lol. We used to have 8th grade graduation and again after high school, of course. But, nothing before then.

Thanks for stopping by!! Yeah, they scrape the dirt road to fix the ruts, etc....I'm too far south for snow (Thank God)...but they do it whenevertheyfeellikeit and they do a stinky job!
