I Heart Silly Faces (and cousins)

Here's my official I Heart Faces submission.

My nephew. I didn't even ask him... he's just silly by nature! (please click to see my runner up photo below—I had the hardest time deciding which one to submit this week!)

I love this picture...

I chose it as my runner up for I heart faces, but it was a hard decision!

See how the tree with the sparkly sunlight is back there all out of focus?! That's thanks to my sister's camera... A Nikon D60. I love the colors in this shot and of course the goofy cousins! I've been taking a ton of shots on the Macro setting (the little flower icon). See if your camera has one.. even my point and shoot has one I use all the time!

My kids were certain I was going to get stung when I was getting in good n close to take this picture.. I was trying hard to use the macro setting to get just what I wanted... I took probably 30 photos and still I didn't quite get it..

On Memorial day we drove south a bit and crossed the California border... ohhh does that sound cool or what? We were headed for the Lava Beds National Monument. And by just looking around it wasn't all that exciting. Desert terrain, a lot of sagebrush. A funny lake Named Tule Lake. (Pronounced Tool-y.)

But beneath that giant sagebrush plain.... over 700 caves and lava 'tubes'. This picture is after exploring a cave and walking back out... she was at the 'mouth' and I was still down inside a ways... My little silhouette!
