Sorry no prizes.
Oh okay, you whiner. I'll send one of my handmade headbands if you get ALL of them right and you are the first one. Try not to cheat (that would mean using the internet). Because I will so totally know if you do. You can only participate if you have read these books 45 thousand times to the same child, (knowing full well in 2 and a half years you will read them again 45 thousand times for kid 2).
Can you name the title of the book that goes with each phrase?
- Schlopp Schlopp beatiful Schlopp, beautiful Schlopp with a cherry on top.
- Zizzerzazzerzuz.
- My horns could carry books and stuff like paper, pens and strings and apples for my teacher and a lot of other things!
- But I like to eat cake in a tub, laughed the cat. You should try it some time, laughed the cat as he sat.
- Not on a train! Not in a tree! Not in a car! Sam! Let me be!
- I will pick up the hook. You will see something new. Two things. And I call them Thing One and Thing Two.
Can you tell me which book this is from?:
These Nizzards were always flying about over the Dike Trees, waiting for a chance to swoop down and peck. If nobody stopped them, the roots would soon give way. Then the sea would pour in with a terrible roar, and every last soul in the kingdom would drown.
(It's a happy book).
I guess I should have done this back near Dr. Seuss' birthday, but I didn't. And he was sort of a rebel so let's just go with it.
I'll reveal the answers tomorrow. (I know you can wait.)

Well, since there are no prizes, I'm not playing. j/k
4. The cat in the Hat 2
5. Green Eggs and Ham
6. The Cat in the hat
They all sound familiar so I know I've read them, but I just can't recall the title! :)
I know I've read these as well, but do you think I can keep them all straight? Hardly! Did you know all of them?
I've read all of them if that's what you are asking? We own all but the last one. The first couple phrases are my favorites. I might randomly spout out Schlopp, Schlopp, Beautiful Schlopp! And I even have my kids talking like me, they'll say, "What is a Zizzerzazzerzuz"? (I'm usually saying, "Just What is Nougat?".
I only know one - I'm such a baby mother!
2. The Dr. Seuss ABC book (read it daily. Have it memorized) Big Z little z what begins with z?
"I do, I am a zizzerzazzerzuz as you can plainly see!"
3. I wish I had duck feet
4. The cat in the hat comes back
5. Green eggs and ham
6. The cat in the hat
We have every one of these books, and have read them a gazillion times.
#1? I know we have the book. I can't remember.
Bonus? I have no clue. I now go to google.
Now I know #1. We must have lost that book in our move. I haven't seen it for a while.
The bonus book, I don't think I've ever heard of it.
Here's a few for you.
1. They grow on every kind of head. They come in blue and pink and red.
2. The Mayor is there and the Alderman too, all waving big banners of red, white and blue.
3. Get yourself a Ga-Zoom. You can go with a boom.
4. Suppose YOU were shaped like these or those! Or shaped like a BLOGG! Or a garden hose!
Fun post. You made me think.
Hmmm, not so funny when it’s turned back on me!
I’m guessing Jill's number one is One Foot, Two Foot, Red Foot, Blue Foot?
And 2 is I am not going to get up today?’
I don’t know 3 or 4…they remind me of There’s a Wocket in my Pocket, or The Lorax.
But SassyQueen (she’s 7) thinks number 4 is The Shape of Me and Other Stuff??
And I can't spell! That last comment should of been "I only know one - I'm such a bad mother!
I didn't know any of them - uh oh! Poor little Claire - she has a practically illiterate mother! I didn't know tahre was a "cat in the hat' 2 ?!? Okay, I have some serious studying to do before Claire gets much older. I've been reading her Utne magazine....

Wow. GO Jill. Go Carissa. You guys rock. Sadly, I read the first one every day to my kids and I couldn't recall the title, and you'll notice I knew the book but had the title wrong on The Cat in the Hat Comes Back. I'm officially brain dead.
