Will Blog for Milkshakes?

read my mommy's blog

Photo from Baggermania

Did you know some folks hate the word Mommy Blogging? I’ve read that several times. They are moms and they blog, and they certainly write about their kids/family life/parenting…but NO! DO NOT CALL them mommy bloggers. I pretty much stay away from labels. I especially hate, HATE- GAP. Refuse to buy crap from Gap especially when it has the brand plastered across the boobs of the shirt. Srsly.

Anyway.
The label momblog, mommy blogging, moblo,
MOM WHO BLOGS IT ALL DAY LONG?
I dunno. Doesn’t bother me.

Seems almost empowering?

Am I crazy?

What do you think?

Mommy Bloggers Unite?

We ROOOOCKKK!

And for a second rambling topic...

Did you know there is a whole topic in StumbleUpon labeled Mormon? Now you do.

Other possible religion-related in the list?:

Catholic, Christian, Christian Music, Lesbian Culture, Paganism, Protestant, Religion, Scientology and Wicca?

Did I miss anything?

Unless you count Homeschooling or Yoga? And some MOMMY BLOGGERS… do. They soooo do.

I was just surprised. There wasn’t Baptist, or Lutheran, or Presbyterian, or Episcopalian? Catholic and Mormon and Scientology? The only named religions as topics? Well…there’s Wicca, and I don’t mean to discriminate…but I have yet to meet a practicing …um? Wicca-ite? If you do.. please let me know! I can check that off my list.

‘Met a practicing Wicca-ite, made friends’, Check.

you had a little time on your hands yesterday? I don't care what you call me...I use the term Mommyblogger all the time...I use it in the B!F! article and didn't think twice about it. There is a discussion on Blogher about it. I'm surprised it is even coming up.

Actually just call me "Media Mammarian Analyst"...how's that?

Love the term mommy blogger, because that is what I am.

Also, I had a boss who was a Wicca-ite. She was always sending me good energy--or not good energy, depending on the day of the month and the shade of her mood. She would tell us about trips out to the desert. I never knew quite whether to believe her or not.

I'm with you on using the word 'hate' - I really don't use it in my *language* at all, but in typing out in my blog, sometime the best word is 'hate' - dislike or disapprove just don't seem to get the message across, so that's me and what bother me...

I love being a mommy blogger, it's the perfect description.

Oh yes, where did you get that shirt - I MUST have it (my children I mean)

Dude, I was reading too fast - you HATE the GAP, not the words HATE - umm, slapping my forehead...

I can't think about anything you wrote but you HATE the Gap. I love the Gap. Given I choose to avoid the words Gap on the front (because I like style not advertising). Almost all my twins clothing is Gap. I guess I am not worried about labels. Call me whatever you want just as long as its nice. I blog about my life which happens to be all about being a mother!

I love that shirt! So funny.

I worked with a woman who claimed to be Wiccan, but she didn't take it very seriously. It was sort of her answer to being agnostic.

The closest I get to Wicca is catching a rerun of Charmed.

I use the phrase 'Mommy Blogger' way too often. Usually it is preceded with 'dorky'. Its okay though because I'm talking about myself, so whatever.

Maybe they're just lumping Baptist, Lutheran, Presbyterian & Episcopalian into the Christian category. Of course, it would probably have been better to lump them together as Protestant and let it be.

See, I can't stumble or I'll get all confused. :)

Thanks for visiting me. You have such the nice place here!

Mommy blogger or not? I don't really care. Seems like a silly thing to get upset about.
My husband is like you in that he HATES labels. Especially on t-shirts.

I am Arizona; a person, not a place. said...

That's a cute shirt! I wouldn't care if I were called a mommy blogger. What's the big deal? Sticks and stones, y'know? And Gap doesn't bother me either. In fact, I've been known to shop there. Of course, I do it undercover. lol! I rarely buy stuff with logos plastered on them, though. I find it tacky.

Like the term mommy blogger. That's what I consider myself. I recently came across a Wicca blogger, too.

I don't care either, I am both a mom and a blogger too. So then I guess we could make me a mommy-blogger-blond-haired-crafter-book-reading-maid-cook-mormon, cause I am all that too! This post made me laugh!

I think my boys need that shirt...

I don't think of myself as a mommy blogger as much a as a really awesome superstar blogger in my old mind...

Hmmm..I'm not offended by being called a mommy blogger at all. Mommy bloggers ROCK!

No, I wouldn't mind being called a mommy blogger. If the shoe fits...
Thanks for swinging by my blog.
My sister claims to be wiccan. She grew up LDS, but has since fallen away. I'm not sure how into it she is, but she's quite friendly. (she has a little attitude now and then, but don't we all?)

OK, I just had to come back and comment on your bags. I'm drooling right now. DROOLING!!!!! They are fabulous! I love them all. The fabrics are adorable. How is your shop doing? I'm working on setting up shop for myself with scripture totes. OF course, they're nowhere near as fantastic as your bags. Maybe I should just throw in the towel now. (sigh)

Man that kid is cute and so is the shirt.

I know lots of Wiccans, Pagans, NeoPagans, Druids, Catholics, Jews, LDS's, JW's - the list goes on.

This is the coolest most unbiased religious site ever. You will not believe all the religions they list. Whenever I hear a new one or want to do research, I go straight to that site and find out what's what. It's enlightening! Educational! Have a nice day!!!

Oh my heck! I was featured. And it didn't hurt or anything!
