YO-YO! Yoga-ahhhh.

I took my first yoga class in college.
It was the only class the pre-hubby and I could find
that we could take together.

Bowling? Nope. Bad time.
Golf? Nope. Already filled.
So, off to yoga we went.

He was a trooper and did his best.

However, I..... was hooked.

One year later in Brooklyn, I found a yoga class where the instructor was everything a good granola yogic teacher should be. I took that class right up until my belly from my first pregnancy was about to pop. I had an awesome set of lungs by the end after all that 'Fire Breath' stuff.

On and off since, I've been able to take some yoga classes, but never like that... Once a week, Every week, with NOTHING more important? But 3 kids later, fat droopy butt, and too many afterschool activities? In short. It's been years.

And my 30-ish body has had enough.

That, and we found a seriously affordable gym here in my new town, new life.

Yesterday.

Was the first day of my renewed love affair with my spurned lover.
And it felt good.
And I vow to be loyal.
And I HURT all over!

Namiste.

All photos taken by hubby, Seth. Yes. That really is me. In all my glory...Ha!

Oh I love yoga. But I am not consistent with my practice. The last time I did take classes I was pregnant and it was so relaxing but I had to stop once I was put on bedrest. I need to start up again.

Good for you!! I also decided to get back into the exercise world this week...It's so much easier to lift a coke than my leg for pilates (sounds like a dog by a fire hydrant)..could hardly sit down on the toilet (TMi-chuckle)!

I love yoga. Don't go nearly enough, but always makes me feel good when I do.

I've never tried yoga, but a while ago, I did buy some pilates DVDs.
That should totally count for something shouldn't it?

Congrats on going renewing your love affair with yoga. I think there are two yoga camps. Those that LOVE it and those that Hate it. I seriously can't understand the attraction, although I've tried really, really hard. I think I'm too impatient. That's got to be it. :)

i hate all exercise. I get no "natural high" from it - I don't enjoy it. Just not for me.

But if I HAVe toooo, then I do yoga. I like the meditative quality of hatha, and the "fir breath" of ashtanga.

Oh jeez - I just realized I should probably exercise again....

I have tried yoga once, something called yogafit. And I hurt for like a week afterwards! But it felt good.

Yoga has been something I would love to try, but I can't find a good place close by. Heck I just need to work out!

I am Arizona; a person, not a place. said...

Oh, I'm jealous. My yoga teacher all but forgot about me. And my butt isn't quite where it used to be either!!

Good for you! I teach aerobics classes at my local gym (so I get to go for freeeeeeee). Anyway, the yoga teacher scares me a bit so I've never tried it.

I've never been big into yoga. I do like to exercise, though. It's especially fun at home, where I have kids hanging on my legs and jumping on me. (literally!)
My husband does the P90X videos and whenever he starts working out, my kids gather all the balls they can find and throw them at him. It's pretty funny to me. He doesn't even get mad. Just dodges and throws back, hardly missing a beat!:)

Look at you go girl! Wish I could get into yoga. I'm more the running and lift weights type. I've been thinking about it but I feel like I would have to quit the weights. I should just pop in a tape!!

Good on you! It's always so hard to get back into something fitness related, even if you used to love it. I really must get running again! Thanks for the inspiration.
:)

Oh my heck! I was featured. And it didn't hurt or anything!
