Ode To That Thing We Call Little League

Sitting in the bleachers.
Watching little sluggers bat.
Watching little kids watch the pitcher pitch. Watch the catcher miss...
Ball FOUR!
Watch the slugger walk. Again.
Watch the pitcher pitch. Watch the catcher miss...
Surprise! She hit the ball?!

She runs to first! They throw the ball to first.. they miss the ball..
She runs to second! They throw the ball to second.. they miss the ball..
She runs to third! They throw the ball to third.. they miss the ball..

HOMERUN!

Little League is quite possibly the bane of my existence. Is it unAmerican to hate little league?

If you scroll down these really quick it's like a little video! Notice his eyes most definitely ARE closed! Ha!

Then I must be totally UNamerican, too. Blah. Hubby is a big sports fanatic - played everything in HS and went to college on sports scholarships. I was (and am) the opposite. Hated gym class - pretty much avoid any sports in which balls are involved - hate exercising - am not competitive. But he has already bought our little girl a soccor ball and a softball kit. His whole image of fatherhood is wrapped up in playing/coaching sports with her. It is inevitable that I am going to have to sit through a bunch of games of something. I thought it might be tolerable since I'd be watching my little sweet pea play? But I have my doubts.... Loved the pictures, though!

That was great! My kids aren't Little League aged yet... but I just know I'm going to hate it too. I'm terrible!

You have to go into it with the attitude that Little League is there for YOUR comic relief.

I agree with Karen. Comic relief.

I hated Little League as a kid. I hated BEING in Little League -- my parents wouldn't let me quit.

I hated WATCHING Little League -- my parents wouldn't let me quit.

I hate the THOUGHT of Little League -- that's my husband's job though!

Hey--that is exactly how I got my first home run! Massive amounts of errors on a bunt. I still accepted my glory. I didn't care!

Hi. I'm just here visiting your site, and I have to say, I like it a lot. You have some great stuff to check out. I have a small blog that has been around for about 2 years. It's not big, I delete posts every now and then. But I invite you to come check out my site. I would love to have you over. :D
