Garage Sale

If you add one letter it becomes:

GARBAGE SALE?

Husband's firm opinion is that crap doesn't disappear. It just exchanges hands from one garage sale to the next.

And the next...

And the next...

Believe it or not there's more. A loveseat, a futon, a large and very heavy desk, an antique little chair, A TV and it's stand. It's a Sony. And I quote all three of the guys who came to give moving quotes: "Oh. A Sony eh? They are the HEAVIEST brand of televisions." Who knew?

Believe it or not. I love this part of a move. The cleaning out the crap part! I vow nothing that goes out to the garage sale comes back in, Yay!

You're invited on over to my place. Fall into the Crap!

Oh friend, I feel you....really I do. I wasn't in any way organized enough to have a garage sale before we moved. Not even close.

We just threw things out and did way too many drops off to the DI. We're talking hundreds of pounds of crap. Sad really.

SO. Here's hoping you make oodles of cash and you laugh your organized self all the way to the bank!!!

GREAT PSF!

You really selling all that? Wow. That is a big job. I hate moving! I need to clean out my house, none the less.

Garbage Sale? Heck yes!

Tomorrow's the day all of our unsold items are going to the dump. We're glad it's garbage day to get rid of it, but our curb is going to look like the set of the Beverly Hillbillies.

Good luck on the sale!! I hope it all sells and you don't have to find a place to store all the "garage" until trash day.

Wow! You've got a TON to sell! I bet you'll get rid of a lot of stuff and make a nice chunk o' change as well! We've never tried a garage sale (I'm too lazy). We get rid of a lot of our crap through freecycle and Amvets. I'll look forward to hearing how it all goes!

Doesn't it feel good to get rid of crap. On Monday nights I purposely find things to add to the curb for the garbage man.

Oh, I so want that little girls' kitchen set! I've been going to garage sales looking for one for my girlies. Hopefully I'll find one before the garbage sale season ends...I hate the thought of having to buy new plastic that will only end up in a landfill...

Garage sale eh? Wow, you're so brave. I just load all my crapola up & take it to the goodwill for a tax credit.

Moving yourself is the best way to go. It's a ton of work but you get to go through all the crap as you go... unlike our last few moves - where you go through it as you unpack. Much slower process.

good luck on your upcoming move. are you moving far from where you are now? we just moved 2500 miles.

Getting rid of crap is my favorite part of moving too. Lucky me I get to do it in about a year! I hope you make it!

I have had three garage sales my whole life. One when I was a kid, trying to sell toys I didn't use to other kids in the neighborhood. I think I only sold one toy. And two in my current home.

We made a killing the first garage sale. It was a community one. The second we went at it on our own. It went good, but we had a plan ready for anything that didn't sell.

What didn't sell, we first tried to bring to pawn shops, then to consignment shops, and everything left over to Ebay or Goodwill. Ebay or Goodwill depended on the value of the item.

It was a great strategy to get rid of everything while at the same time getting as much money back as possible.

Oh my heck! I was featured. And it didn't hurt or anything!
