Ya Gotta Love Em.

You know what drives me crazy?

When a kid—(mine of course) walks up to me while I'm eating a cookie and says: "I'm HUNGRY..." It's the dot dot dot that gets me. You're hungry? And....? WHAT!?

You want a turkey sandwich? A banana split? Some MacNCheese? Am I supposed to guess?

Lately TK (4yrold) does it non-stop. We're driving in the car. He spies from like 4 miles away the Golden Arches (let's not say the name.) And he blurts from the backseat. I'm HUNGRY! Huh? What? You just ate? Do you want a granola bar? How can you be hungry? He points out the window—I look—"Oh." I think...and we drive on.

Would it kill him to just say hey mom, I see some crackers in your bag, can I have a few? Instead of the, "I'm HUNGRY (dot dot dot.)"

Ahhhhh GoodNCrazy KIDS. What about your kids, drives you crazy?

Oh lordy, not "I'm HUNGRY!" Anything but that. However, it is refreshing to know that mine aren't the only children that persist in pulling such nonsense.

Lately, it's the little one (lately it's him just about every moment of every day for any reason) who is the worst. Only with him it's always "I'm THIRSTY!" But wait, we just left the house 5 minutes ago--you couldn't have mentioned you were THIRSTY BEFORE we left? This weekend was the best. Went to see a play at the high school. Of course, we bought goodies and bottled water. Show was over. Walked a block to our car to drive the TWO MINUTES back home, and as SOON as we get in the car, before I've even turned the key in the ignition, "I'm THIRSTY!"

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGH!

What's for dinner.

Right after I just spent 5 minutes telling them when and what I am cooking for dinner.

How's things for you? No drama lately for you?

LMAO My daughter does this ENDLESSLY...and as many times as I starve her and send her to the dungeon to learn the lesson, she refuses to ask the question.

Gotta love em.

;-)

Loved this post, C!

Thats too funny! Someday we will miss these moments, at least thats what they say! Did I miss you? I kind of lost track of time. If not we should go to lunch. But I am kindof thinking your back in Oregon, sorry.

When they want the LAST bite of that cookie in your hand (that you really don't wanna give up) and they give you that pitiful look and then you have to give it to them (since ya know you have given them that lecture on sharing....)

That drives me crazy, too!

Also that hunger? Apparently it is insatiable because they are always looking for food. ALWAYS.

That's hilarious! I know what's in my future now :)

What drives me nuts is that Claire will only eat, like maybe 10, 15 max, different things for us at home. Picky eater, right? But no - because at school she'll eat ANYTHING they put in front of her! Manicotti, salad, eggs, sloppy joes, fish tacos.... Drives me nuts.

And, also food-related, she wants anything I'm eating. She may have just refused it, but if i'm eating it, she wants it. So then I give her my last sliver of banana or sandwich etc., and then she throws it on the floor. The cats are happy, though...
